Fun History

The DESIGNThe design began as a simple blockcut for a personal T-shirt. I wanted to create a brayer with rolled out ink and print it on a work shirt or apron. I decided to curve the ink swatch to jazz it up a bit and after the first test proof was revealed, I said to myself "looks like a little rolling river coming out of my brayer, hmm, wouldn't that be a cool name for a printmaking group"...
Violà, a logo and name was born and it was off to further develop a graphic image with my software. - Cara |
The colors
Although we use variations of the design, the main logo consists of blue and orange.
The blue is pretty obvious as a representative of water. Deeper associations with the color blue include serenity, stability, inspiration and wisdom. But what about the orange? Depending on the ideology you follow, orange represents optimism, energy and creativity! |
